Advantages of Homestay

Good afternoon, everyone.

As most of you already know me, my name is Teresa. Today, I’d like to speak about advantages of homestay. This talk will help you select residence in the USA. I divided my talk into three sections.
First, homestay gives you opportunities to speak English. Second, You can see what's American home culture like. Lastly, you can make many good foreign friends. I will use beam projector for your convenience. The presentation will take about 10 minutes. If you have any questions, please wait until the end.
Ok, Let’s start with the first topic. Homestay offers you many opportunities to speak English. Because you can't speak Korean with your host family. Thus, you have to speak only English or use body language. That is, you have more chances to face to face speaking English everyday. So eventually, you can overcome being shy about speaking to foreigners more easily.
Second, you can have many opportunities to experience American home culture. Do you think you can understand their culture by just hearing or seeing? Culture is related to life. So, if you are to understand their culture, you have to experience directly. Living with American family gives you chances to experience American lifestyle.
Lastly, you can make lots of good foreign friends. In the host house, there are various people from all parts of the world as well as you. Therefore, you can find out not only America but also their country too. It's quite nice advantage, isn't it?
Anyway these were advantages of homestay. I hope these informations could help your preparation for choosing your residence. And thank you for listening.

A famous person

A famous person

Mother Teresa is one of the most respected person.
Mother Teresa was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in Skopje*, Macedonia, on August 26**, 1910. Her family was of Albanian descent. At the age of twelve, she felt strongly the call of God. She knew she had to be a missionary to spread the love of Christ.
At the age of eighteen she left her parental home in Skopje and joined the Sisters of Loreto, an Irish community of nuns with missions in India.

On October 7, 1950, Mother Teresa received permission from the Holy See to start her own order, "The Missionaries of Charity", whose primary task was to love and care for those persons nobody was prepared to look after. In 1965 the Society became an International Religious Family by a decree of Pope Paul VI.
At 1963 she formed ' Missionaries of Charity Brothers' and this organiztion was authorized by the Vatican and became under its direct control.
At 1971 she was John 23th peace prize winner, and at 1979 she was Novel Peace Prize winner.
At October, 1995, she built adoption center in Washington, D.C and tried to solve illegitimate child and unmarried mother problem by adoption movement.
At September 5, 1997, she died.

Mother Teresa, who was awarded the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize, dedicated her life to the sick and hungry. Her simple message was "the poor must know that we love them". Her followers regarded her as a saint, but Mother Teresa believed she was only doing God's work. Amidst the poverty and slums of Calcutta, Mother Teresa's efforts provided shelter to thousands of the sick and dying, and ensured that thousands of children were cared for and given foster parents. More than two million sick, including nearly fifty thousand lepers, were treated by mobile dispensaries and special clinics. But for Mother Teresa, the Nobel Peace Prize was simply a gift to the poor.

Therefore I respect Mother teresa.
